Introduction to Tango
This drop-in class is offered on Fridays or Saturdays Social classes. It is designed to give everyone
an understanding in Tango. Those who have never danced before can learn the steps and the
experienced dancers can learn details and techniques
Level 1 (Starter/Beginner) 1 Session
For persons with no dance experience.
Prereq : able to walk!
8 Count Basic (Salida + Resolution), Bombilla Dentro, Fwd. Ocho, Bwd. Ocho, Grapevine
Level 2 (Intermediate) 1 Session
Prereq: Level I
Traveling Salida, Back Ocho with Lunge and Gancho, Couple's Molinete Clockwise, Intro to Molinete
Counter-clockwise, Intro to Milonga/Vals
Level 3 (Advanced) Duration: up to 2 years
Pre-req: Levels 1 & 2
These classes consist of 24 different figure groups (each group is 4 hrs long). Everyone learns
figure after figure! Persons with 8 hrs-2 yrs of tango experience.
Express! classes (Duration 2.5-3 hrs)
For those who missed regular weekly classes. This one-day workshop will cover all the figures we
cover in the regular classes.
Theatrical
Pre-req: Several sessions of Level 3
Offered occasionally with more emphasis on theatrical figures and choreography.
Level 3 Gold
Pre-req: none
For those going back to basic to enhance their tango. Posture, Walks, Body alignment, Ochos,
Ganchos, Cuatros, Voleos, Lead/Follow, Music interpolations, Expressions etc. Offered a few times
a year. No new figures involved, so anyone can attend.

"Do I belong to Beginner,
Intermediate, or Advanced?"
Beginner - Persons who are wanting
to start or have just started dancing.
(Leo's Level 1 class.)
Intermediate - Persons who learn
figure after figure. (This is the Leo's
Level 2 and the last 40 minutes of
Leo's Level 3 class.)
Advanced - Persons who go back to
the basic elements and polish each
detail. Typical materials are: walks,
lead / follow, styling, posture, foot work
- same material covered in Level 1.
(This is the first 15 minutes of Leo's
Level 3 class or Level 3 Gold.)
