Important Message from Leo Sato

Dear Students, Teachers and Promotors,

Sandra Miller of Epicurean Tango Society announced that Angel Coria would be back in Calgary. Despite her web advertisement, I never endorsed nor supported this event. Frankly speaking, no one told me about this till mid-July. At that time, it was too late to organize his workshop as I have had my trip planned.

Since my students are important to me, I have been fighting hard with visiting instructors to keep students' financial burden low. When instructors start shopping around or local organizers start bidding on prices, YOUR fees will go up until either local instructors cannot afford it or students cannot afford it.

I have spent thousands of hours and dollars to promote visiting instructors in the past, which I have not yet recovered. However, I have done this because I believe these workshop would be beneficial to my students and not for the value of dollars coming in. I know how much effort I have put in to organize / promote even a small event like this, so I don't believe in taking an advantage of someone's previous work.  I am also afraid this is the beginning of large conflicts between the clubs by bidding other's instructors and stealing other's previous work. It is bad enough now.

By the time you find this note, I will be in Japan visiting my family. This incident, during my absence, has already spoiled my trip.

However, I ask my students and friends, please do not support this organization's function so that we can keep affordability,  peace and order here in Calgary.

PS: Shaking hands means much more than Contracts in my culture. I know it sounds rediculous, but I still believe in the TRUST. Hope you all are proud of this terrible business man....me.
