Tango was born in the back streets of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the late 1800s. Then it was a dance
amongst poor immigrants and hookers. Once this dance was discovered, a variation of tango was danced
among the wealthy class in Europe. Tango still remains the same. The original Argentinean tango has
spread to every corner of the world and is the most commonly known dance today. For instance, the tango
shows and the tango movies existing today are all Argentinean tango. DanceCalgary.com and Jorge
Romberg will premier their new show,
Tango Temptation, The Show on September 8 & 9, 2006 at the
University Theatre.

Tango Temptation, The Show is a full professional show. The featured dancers Leo Sato and Mercedes
Bernardez have had relatively new partnership. Sato was the director and the lead dancer for the Calgary's
first successful tango show,
Rhythm of Peace. Argentinean born Bernardes is the Assistant Choreographer
and the Ballet Mistress of the Alberta Ballet Company, and has created numerous theatre shows all over the
world. This couple will bring the hot passionate tango to the stage.

All tangos are played by the orchestra,
Libertango, whose members are: Darcy North (Bandoneon), Emiko
Okada (Piano), Roman Hernandez (Violin, Guitar, Viola), Tiho Vidovic (Contra Bass), Robert Stewart (Flute,
Saxophone), Alex Watterworth (Drusms), Leonardo Bender (Singer)  and Monica Villase (Singer). They will
play the popular tango numbers composed by Gardel, Arienzo, Di Sarli and Pugliese. Any jazz fans will love to
listen the Piazzolla's numbers.

The main attraction of the show is the guest dancers. We will introduce the internationally renown rising stars
of tango, Angel Coria and Angela Toanez, direct from Argentina. Coria and Toanez whose credits include the
Oscar nominated movie,
Tango (directed by Carlos Saura), the international hit, Copes Tango Copes show,
and the tango great Mariano Moress,
Mores para todos. They have touched people's hearts from South
America to Asia and onto Europe.

Sato says, consider the Tango as the King of all dances. EVERYONE on earth has heard of tango. The queen
will be ballet, but no other dances are nearly as commonly known as these two. Sato also says, When I was
touring the South American countries, I encountered numerous tango shows. The theatre was always packed
by local people. When the singer started singing, the entire audience started singing along. Although people
don't know how to dance tango, they always love to listen to tango, because we all share the sorrow in our
hearts.
